Vice-Chair Person
Sheila Hobbs

Sheila fell into the field of Occupational Health by accident. After agreeing to assist her department by temporarily filling a vacancy due to maternity leave, her initial six month contract turned into a six year occupational health career, during which time she trained to be a Manual Handling Advisor. Sheila soon realised this was the ideal career to combine patient care with managerial excellence. She developed a complementary healthcare approach to her Occupational health practice at the University Hospital Wales, Cardiff by complimenting her prior qualifications in holistic massage, herbal medicine and anatomy and physiology. Sheila has also played a major role in the development of a back care package that continues to be utilised by a team of Physiotherapists.

Now retired after 33 years within the NHS, she is impatient to see whether the next field is even greener...
